Engineering

The Challenge

  • Our client, a global pharmaceutical company, has been through a series of acquisitions at global level. Due to these acquisitions and the global pressure on costs, global leadership launched rationalization and cost cutting programs.
  • For the production lines and the formulation department in particular, this translates into the need to implement a continuous improvement culture which will be done through a lean 6 sigma approach.

Avertim's approach

  • Implementation and use of 6 sigma tools, eg. 5S; SIPOC; DMAIC; A3 report; ...
  • Train operators and supervisors to 6 sigma
  • Lead Lean 6 sigma projects
  • Support production lead to develop its strategy (objectives, deadlines, vision)
  • Improve alignment with other departments

Impact and added Value

  • Long-term change within the formulation department where the culture of continuous improvement is now taken into account at all stages of the process.
  • Successful project is now serving as a pilot within the production department.
